Community Advocates for Clean Energy…New Organization Helps You Find Energy Subsidies!
In the summer of 2023 the Philadelphia chapter of the Sierra Club got together with the Philadelphia chapter of the Climate Reality Project and formed a new organization called the Community Advocates for Clean Energy (CACE) based in the greater Philadelphia area. Its focus is to educate the public about the financial incentives provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). These acts provide grants, direct funding, tax credits and rebates to homeowners, individuals, local governments, nonprofits, and businesses. Home Rebates, Lead Service Line Replacement, Neighborhood Access, Clean School Bus and Green School are just some of the available funding opportunities.
CACE provides workshops, speakers, and resources, with the goal of matching organizations and the public to the opportunities provided by these acts. CACE has held a webinar on the individual incentives that anybody can take advantage of as well as an in-person workshop covering both individual incentives and grant opportunities. These presentations as well as upcoming events, information on grants, individual incentives, and other resources can be viewed on the CACE website.
CACE is always looking for volunteers. They have opportunities to help with planning and organizing events, doing a deep dive into the various available grants, outreach to stakeholders, and more. If you are interested in volunteering with CACE, start by taking the CACE Volunteer Interest Survey.
The BIL and IRA provide a lot of federal funding to move towards a sustainable future. Let’s work to make sure that the Philadelphia region gets its fair share.
